Soldiers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord Get Morale Boost via OSD Supply Drop

TACOMA, WASHINGTON & AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 15, 2018) /For immediate release/ —  The Forward Support Company SOFT-A is deployed from Joint Base Lewis-McChord to Afghanistan. They work closely with Special Forces, so they are always on the move and regularly find themselves at different outposts. They put in long hours each day and have little to do in their free time.

Sergeant Quentin K. explained, “To be honest we are worked every day and when we do have free time all we have is the gym. We get pushed out to different outpost due to the fact we work with the special forces so we are always on the go.”

The constant movement and 24/7 work had caused morale to take a hit. Sergeant Quentin K. reached out hoping OSD could help.

He continued, “I heard about OSD and thought I would try and reach out to see if we could put a smile of these soldiers faces. Anything would help.”

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Winter as members of OSD’s Northwest Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Tacoma.
