Soldiers from Fort Benning Entertained During Downtime Thanks to OSD Supply Drop

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 17, 2018) /For immediate release/ —   The 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade from Fort Benning is deployed to Afghanistan. They are responsible for advising and assisting the Afghan National Army.

Currently stationed at a British Army Base, they don’t have access to an MWR or USO common on most American installations. Hoping for a small reminder of home and a morale boost for his fellow soldiers, Specialist Stephen P. reached out to OSD.

He explained, “I feel a Supply Drop would boost the morale of the soldiers. It would be nice if they had a gaming system or something to keep them entertained in downtime.” Happy to report that with the help of our partners, OSD was able to meet the need!

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Winter as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Benning.
