Soldiers Deployed to Poland Supporting Operation Atlantic Resolve Overcome Harsh Winter with Thanks to OSD ‘Supply Drop’

BEMOWO PISKIE, POLAND & FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (March 2, 2018) /For immediate release/ — A large scale training exercise is no joke. When held in the harsh Polish climate over the winter, troop morale can be tough to maintain.

Soldiers of the 3/2 Cavalry Regiment are currently deployed to Poland in Operation Atlantic Resolve, an annual training exercise with our European Allies.

Atlantic Resolve is a demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to collective security through a series of actions designed to reassure NATO allies and partners of America’s dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region in light of the Russian intervention in Ukraine.

Army SGT Michael B, wrote, “We are deployed to Poland in Operation Atlantic Resolve. My platoon consists of 46 persons. We just arrived at Bemowo Piskie, Poland and there isn’t much to do here. We would greatly appreciate a care package to help keep up the morale of my soldiers and help get us through the harsh Polish winter.”

“We recently arrived after a week of travel from Vilseck, Germany and already the morale is so low. Thank you for everything that you do in support of our troops overseas.”

The “Supply Drop” includes generous support from Disgruntled Decks, Razer, Starbucks, Bezier Games, Steve Jackson Games, GAEMS and other key OSD partners.

OSD Director of Global Community Operations, Scott Morrison, added, “It’s a pleasure to provide services that not only provide respite from the desert sun, but also from the chill of winter. We’re excited to continuing working with these soldiers once they successfully complete their mission and return home to Germany.”

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe.

The unit will return to Germany, home to some of OSD’s “Teams”, in the late spring. OSD’s chapter-based “Teams” program brings the military community together through social, service and professional events and outings in dozens of cities around the globe.
