Soldiers Deployed from Fort Bragg Get Morale Boost from OSD Supply Drop
FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 26, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Soldiers from Fort Bragg are deployed to Afghanistan. Months away from friends and family can easily take a toll, particularly when the days are long and the mission dangerous.
SPC Erich S. reached out to OSD hoping to secure a Supply Drop for his fellow soldiers. He explained, “My unit provides airborne intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance support to the special operations joint task force while they’re on the ground kicking in doors and taking down terrorists. During a typical day we spend up to 8 hours in the sky flying around the country supporting their operations with an additional 2 hours of pre-mission briefs, and then 2 hours of mission de-briefs. Outside of flying around saving the world, we typically sleep as much as possible and try to connect with our families depending on whether the sketchy internet is working.”
He noticed that the deployment was getting to some in the Unit and was hoping for a way to boost morale. He continued, “All of these soldiers and airmen are typically out here on nine-month deployments and get extremely salty, I would love to see their faces if they were able to get some game systems to help them pass the long months away from home.”
Nothing we like better than helping lift the spirits of those serving our country.
