Tickets go on Sale for Second Annual “Stars Behind the Stripes” Date Night Honoring Military Spouses in Partnership with USAA & #10000Strong

San Antonio, Texas, November 1, 2017 /For immediate release/ —  The 2nd Annual “Stars Behind the Stripes” Date Night is back for Sunday, November 18 at La Fontana Springs in San Antonio, Texas! Come out for an evening of dinner and dancing to honor our military spouses! Tickets are on sale now for a fun “date night” of wining, dining, and dancing hosted by OSD (Operation Supply Drop), #10000Strong, & Friends! Open to military spouses, caregivers and others who support the members of our Armed Forces. The lynchpin of our military families, they are the ones who maintain the homes and hearts of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guard, and we thank them all for their service.

The keynote speaker is Lindsey Litton, military spouse and entrepreneur. Litton is the founder of Lindsey Litton Realty Group — a multi-million dollar real estate consulting, sales and marketing team.

When asked about what it means to be a military spouse and her participation at the event, Lindsey Litton mentioned: “I am so honored to have been invited to this beautiful event and I can’t wait to celebrate my fellow spouses, their success and their amazing dedication to our community. Military spouses are the backbone of the military family. We move every 3-5 years, we constantly change careers and jobs and we are experts at volunteering at any military event to make our community stronger and support our spouses. But we do sacrifice our careers; military spouses face a 90% unemployment and underemployment rate in our country. That is why we have made it our company’s mission to change that and to show and encourage military spouses who chose to enter the work force that it is possible, and we believe there is no better way of doing that than by leading by example.”

The Co-Founder of #10000Strong and OSD Advisory Board Member, Jeannette Robinson, mentioned that the “Stars Behind the Stripes” event is like no other. “The idea of the event came about through collaboration with a number of local businesses and organizations wanting to show respect and recognition to military spouses, especially considering they are often overlooked for their sacrifices and dedication. It’s an authentic, grassroots effort of our community to honor military spouses, which makes it even cooler! The San Antonio community is incredible and we feel it’s very important for these military families to know we’re here to support them.”

The event is expecting 250 people this year. It will feature a red carpet entry with photography, a flower presentation, special dinner prepared by regionally renowned chef Jan Whittle, live entertainment by Brad Normandeau, dancing, and a special appearance by San Antonio comedian Cleto Rodriguez.

S for this event include Platinum Sponsor USAA, online military community MilTribe, Y&L Consulting, Laurel Ridge Treatment Center, Blue Star Families, Cilantro Creative, and volunteers from multiple local businesses and organizations such as UTSA, AACOG, Bexar County Veteran Services, That Resume Girl, MOAA, and so many more!
