Over 2,000 from Local Military Community Attend Fayetteville Comic Con for a Weekend of Family Fun

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina, October 23, 2017 /For immediate release/ — Members of OSD’s Central NC chapter joined an estimated 2,000 plus members of the military community, many from Fort Bragg, to take in the abundance of geek culture at Fayetteville’s Crown Complex for Fayetteville Comic Con.

OSD was generously provided with a booth by the event organizers and the presence enabled the Central NC chapter to further awareness of veteran support programs in the area and grow the regional membership base. Local chapter member and US Army Veteran, Laeth Damon, said, “This event was a great way for Veterans and their Families to interact in a social environment with the local Community. I had a great time sharing my experiences with the community as an OSD Volunteer.”

OSD joined other local businesses as well as actors Lou Ferrigno, aka the Incredible Hulk, and Sam Jones, aka Flash Gordon. Jones stopped by to say “hi” to the OSD team and snap a photo with US Army Soldier and OSD volunteer, Hector Falcon (above).

These events are an important part of the culture of OSD and the fellowship provided through the numerous global chapters emphasizing social, professional and service oriented impact.
