OSD Texas Impacts Fort Bliss Warrior Transition Battalion Veterans with Alternative Therapy “Supply Drop”
FORT BLISS, TEXAS & EL PASO, TEXAS (January 16, 2018) /For immediate release/ — OSD Texas continued to increase the impact footprint across the state, shipping a “Supply Drop” to the Fort Bliss Warrior Transition Battalion near El Paso, Texas.
Though the unit does a great job providing relief and recovery support to recovering veterans, they’re in need of additional outlets which OSD can provide through morale-boosting video, board, dice and card games.
US Army SSG, Ryan Z., stated, “I am a Special Forces Medic. I just got back from Afghanistan and am recovering in the Warrior Transition Battalion on Ft. Bliss. The unit does a lot of good things for guys, but there is still a lot of quiet time between the events and at night.”
“Like many, I am separated from my family geographically while I go through this process. A few guys stuck in wheelchairs have trouble leaving the building. They often roll out of their room to watch tv in the day room, but the activities for them is nil.”
Scott Morrison, Army Veteran and OSD Director of Global Community Operations, stated, “We’re honored to provide additional support for these recovering warriors. We’ve seen how challenging the process can be when these men and women continue to be away from their families. Bringing some fun and games into their daily mix will prove to shorten their recovery times.”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe.
OSD’s chapter-based “Teams” program brings the military community together through social, service and professional events and outings in dozens of cities around the globe. To date, over 50,000 community members have bonded through hundreds of experiences.
