OSD ‘Supply Drop’ on Target for 82nd Airborne Soldiers in Iraq Leading Counter-ISIS Logistical Operations
FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 8, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Fort Bragg, North Carolina based 82nd Airborne Soldiers currently deployed to Iraq as the only company organic rom the 82nd Sustainment Brigade. The unit deployed before Thanksgiving and is due to return home in the late Summer.
Capt. Lesa G. said, “We have a challenging mission throughout Iraq and Syria that has changed logistics throughout theater. The primary mission for the 249th CSC in theater is the receipt, storage, shipment, and divestment of all Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund Iraq (CTEF-I) equipment. Numerous other complementary missions yield leadership roles crucial to the mission command and successful logistics operations at those respective Forward Logistical Elements.”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within the Central Carolina.
