OSD ‘Supply Drop’ Provides Morale Boost for 3d Cav Regiment

KILLEEN, TEXAS & AUSTIN, TEXAS (September 6, 2018) /For immediate release/ —  The Regimental Engineer Squadron, 3d U.S. Cavalry Regiment deployed from Fort Hood to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. One of the oldest Cavalry Units in the army, these soldiers are no strangers to deployments. Still, the long hours and extended time away from home take a toll.

Sgt Kenneth W. reached out to OSD about a Supply Drop, hoping it would give the unit the morale boost they needed. He said, “Our unit deserves a Supply Drop to boost morale and to ensure spirits remain high. At times, soldiers find themselves thinking too much of home. A Supply Drop could help distract them, in a positive manner.”

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Microsoft, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home this winter as members of OSD’s Texas Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within the Central Texas Chapter.
