OSD Supply Drop Helps Marines Deployed from Marine Corps Base Hawaii Set up MWR in the Pacific
KANEOHE, HAWAII & AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 19, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Marines from the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 268 (VMM-268) out of Marine Corps Base Hawaii are deployed to Pacific Region. An aviation combat element, they are performing special Marine air-ground task force crisis response.
These men and women work hard and don’t’ currently have access to an MWR or USO. SSgt Andrew H. reached out to OSD to see if we could help as they work to get one established.
He explained, “The Marines and Sailors in our unit work themselves into the dirt. We do not have an MWR facility established and it would be awesome to reward them by setting something up for them. They could use a place to recuperate or just take a break once in a while during the long days and nights. We run dual shifts so anything you can provide will impact the masses tremendously.”
OSD has equipped these Marined with supplies to get an MWR up and going!
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Marines will return home in the Fall as members of OSD’s Northeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Hawaii.
