OSD ‘Supply Drop’ to Fort Hood EOD Soldiers Deployed to Afghanistan Boosts Unit Cohesion and Morale

FORT HOOD, TEXAS & AUSTIN, TEXAS (March 25, 2018) /For immediate release/ — US Army EOD Unit from Killeen, Texas currently deployed to Afghanistan through late summer receives support from OSD.

The EOD unit is tasked to respond to explosive hazards and partner with coalition forces to ensure safety to U.S. service members, foreign service members, and civilians. The company is spread out through the country supporting various coalition units.


After receiving the Supply Drop from OSD CPL Josh E. said, “We are all thankful for you and your organization for the joy and entertainment you all provided.”

Hundreds of troops are enjoying games, coffee and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Microsoft, Disgruntled Decks, USAA, GAEMS and other key OSD partners.


OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. This unit from Fort Hood will return as members of OSD’s Texas Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events.
