OSD Shipping Expedited Supply Drop to 115th Signal Battalion Soldiers Deployed to Middle East from Huntsville, Alabama
HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA & FAYETTEVILLE, NC (February 27, 2018) /For immediate release/ — 115th Signal Battalion Soldiers are on the tail end of a long deployment to the Middle East, returning home in the late spring. OSD “Supply Drop” will shorten the final months with a significant taste of home.
The team, often sent off base in support of tactical missions, returns to a very small and new base, lacking in basic amenities.
US Army SPC Richard M. stated, “We set up communications weather it be phones, radio, internet, or satellite. Since this base is so new there is nothing around here to do besides to workout. We have an outdoor gym with random weights and are working on setting a tent for indoor activities.”
“I have been in the military for 6 years and am on my second deployment. Please let me know if there is anything you can do to help my team out. Thanks for taking the time to hear us out. We are not picky on anything we would just like to have something to do. Any type of gear is appreciated, and we do not mind sharing anything seeing as we do already.
Scott Morrison, US Army Veteran and Director of Global Community Operations stated, “I can relate to the challenges of a being in a small, detached team. We’re thrilled to fulfill this request to help push these troops through their final months in country before welcoming them home to Alabama.”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe.
