OSD Leads Morale and Community-Building Efforts for Glen Burnie Wounded Warrior Project Peer Support Group

GLEN BURNIE, MARYLAND October 9, 2017 /For immediate release/ — The OSD (Operation Supply Drop) and WWP (Wounded Warrior Project) partnership continues to build momentum after beginning earlier in the year with a “Supply Drop” to the WWP Peer Support Group in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

The “Supply Drop” included numerous video games, board games (including veteran favorite Disgruntled Decks), an XBOX One and GAEMS personal gaming monitor.

Veteran and WWP-PSG member, Michael Carrasquillo, said of the meeting after the “Supply Drop” arrived, “We had a good turnout, including a local alumni who hadn’t actually utilized any of the programs until very recently and is now excited about coming to the group meetings as well.”

Scott Morrison, Director of Global Community Operations at OSD said, “We love seeing our programs in the Southeast region continue to grow in the community with great partners like Wounded Warrior Project. We’re honored to help and support their Glen Burnie members with activities that bring these veterans together.”

WWP peer support groups are led by and designed for warriors who want to discuss personal challenges and lend support to one another. Veteran peer support groups can lead to new friendships, provide a renewed sense of community, strengthen bonds through shared experiences, and introduce new solutions to challenges

OSD has committed to supporting dozens of WWP-PSGs across the country. Many of the OSD and WWP members integrate on the local level through social outings, professional development workshops and community service project.
