AUSTIN, TEXAS (December 5, 2018) /For immediate release/ — What started as a fun competition between some of OSD’s Executives has grown into a movement! Three years ago, OSD CEO and Executive Director, Glenn Banton Sr., issued a challenge on social media – raise $1,000 for our troops and he would shave his beard. Well the OSD community responded and this grass-roots movement accidentally raised $15,000 from various beards since then!

This year we are stepping up the challenge. Not only can you donate to shave Glenn’s beard, you can put your own beard on the chopping block. Getting involved is easy, head to BeardsforTroops.org and:

  1. Support by making a donation to our team or to an individual beard’s page. The process is fast, easy, and secure… and you can be sure that it will benefit a great cause!
  2. Join the Squad and put your beard up for grabs! We ask you to set a minimum goal of $250.

All beards come off the first of the year (but don’t worry, so far we have only lost one eyebrow).

Scott Morrison, OSD’s Chief Community Officer, stated, “Many boys can grow a beard. It takes a real man to know when it’s time to shave it off, and that time is now.”

So join the fun this holiday season and help us shave some beards. Together we hope to raise $10,000 to support Veterans and military members. Let’s do this!
