FAYETTEVILLE, NC, October 31, 2017 /For immediate release/ — OSD Central NC is no stranger to the American Legion 230 post located just outside Fort Bragg. OSD has worked closely with this Post 230 through the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew in October of 2016 to bring it back from the brink of closure.
The local OSD chapter could not be more excited to see over 100 military community members come out for a family-friendly evening of Trunk-or-Treat. This is a testament both to the hard work of the many community organizations involved in reconstruction and to the fortitude of the Post 230 members.
Family enjoyed games, costume contests, decorated vehicles, face painting and of course, numerous treats including board games from Bezier Games and Steve Jackson as well as coffee from Starbucks.
A veteran mother of two at the event shared, “I love that OSD is family based, as a Veteran and a single parent this was the best event to bring my kids to and have a blast.”
American Legion 230 Chaplain and OSD member, Laeth Damon said, “This event was a great way to have family exposure for OSD and fun. We talked upcoming community service projects, and soldier transition tactics.”
The Spring Lake, North Carolina American Legion Post 230 was founded in 1943 devoted to supporting active-duty military, Veterans and their families. We focus on advocating patriotism, honor and continued devotion to those that serve.
