OSD “Games to Grunts” Program Re-Launching with Massive Update in New Partnership with ID.me
AUSTIN, TEXAS & MCLEAN, VIRGINIA (FEBRUARY 6, 2018) /For immediate release/ — OSD’s “Games to Grunts” program is getting a massive update thanks to a new partnership with ID.me alongside Rip It Energy Fuel extending the reach to millions of active-military, veterans and their families.
The popular “Games to Grunts” program, officially launched in 2016, has distributed over a half million PC video games to the military community. The majority of these games are through dozens of gaming industry partners currently distributing their games on the online platform, Steam.
OSD Executive Director & CEO, Glenn Banton, stated, “We’re thankful and excited to have ID.me involved in the next iteration of our ‘Games to Grunts’ program. Their involvement will make the platform more user friendly for our troops as well as provide more benefits to our partners dedicated to supporting those who serve and their families.”
Blake Hall, Army Ranger and Founder of ID.me, stated, “I founded ID.me after observing a Veteran display his DD-214 separation paperwork, which listed all of his sensitive personal information, just to prove his military service to an organization. There had to be a better way,”
“Seven years later, we have credentialed over half the active duty community and millions of Veterans into a secure and privacy-enhancing digital ID that gives our members control over their information. We are proud to be able to partner with great organizations like OSD in recognizing our servicemen and women.”
The updated “Games to Grunts” platform will provide no cost video game keys to all ID.me members currently serving, veterans and military family members. Further, game developers and publishers will have more streamlined opportunities to use the platform to promote military and veteran appreciation initiatives alongside OSD’s global military community efforts.
The new “Games to Grunts” platform is schedule to launch in mid/late Q1-2018 thanks to underwriting assistance from the unofficial drink of the United States Military, Rip It.
