FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (December 17, 2018) /For immediate release/ — OSD Fayetteville knew they wanted to end 2018 with a fun social event. Thanks to a little inspiration from the Internet, they were able to create a memorable Christmas party for many military families at Fort Bragg.
There really is no better way to celebrate the holidays than with hot chocolate, cookies, and crafts and OSD Fayetteville’s Christmas party had them all. OSD Chapter Members worked hard to create a hot chocolate bar complete with marshmallows, whipped cream, and a full spread of holiday treats. Attendees participated in a cookie decorating contest, created picture frames and reindeer from popsicles sticks, and made Christmas ornaments from pine cones (expertly picked by OSD Fayetteville Member, Laeth Damon).
Families had a great time crafting together. OSD Chapter Member Marilyn Sherbondy said, “It was so awesome to see children and parents work together.” It was also fun to see people’s competitive side come out as they got into their creations. The winner of the cookie decorating contest managed to create a perfect Frosty the Snowman with a winter backdrop that included snowflakes, clouds, and snow-covered pine trees.
OSD Fayetteville Chapter Leader Grace said, “Overall, our evening gathering was extremely inviting and allowed parents to not only interact with their children but also welcomed a friendly competition of artistic skills.”
