Operation Supply Drop Fayetteville Back To School Event Scorching Success

The intense temperatures and oppressive humidity in Fayetteville didn’t deter family members from attending Fort Bragg’s Warrior Transition Battalion Back To School Family Fun Day. Members of the WTB had secured backpacks for children going back to school and filled them with items of interest to the young folks. Operation Supply Drop Fayetteville has a long-standing relationship with Fort Bragg and the team was on hand for the festivities making sure children of all ages got something they would enjoy.

Community Manager and OSD Fayetteville member Gray Hogan was on hand for the event with a handful of OSD Fayetteville volunteers, including a newcomer, an active duty Airman who heard about OSD through one of her co-workers. No stranger to events large and small, Hogan said this event was especially successful. “Each (event) is different because of the people we are working with, as well as the people we are affecting. An event like this, the main focus is putting smiles on faces.” The team did that for over two hundred family members in attendance.

The OSD Fayetteville Team tent was just one of many sponsors spaces. However, it was a predictably popular stop for event participants. Not only is OSD well-recognized from prior events and their work in this particular community, but the swag was pretty compelling, too. The team packed their space with LootCrate, Board Games, Plantronics Headsets, and KontrolFreeks game controllers. The ever-popular LootCrate boxes were dispersed in a flash before the event was even half over!

OSD received special recognition and an award at the end of the event from the WTB for our continued service.  Our level of support, however would not be possible without the dedication and time provided by the local Operation Supply Drop community. There are already plans for future events and involvement between the two groups throughout the remainder of the year.
