Marines Deployed from MCAS Miramar Enjoying OSD Supply Drop
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (October 18, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Marines from the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 165 is deployed from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar to Kuwait. They work long hours to ensure that safe aircraft are ready at a moments notice. This means 24 hours shifts and limited downtime. When they do get a few minutes away from the job, they want to do something to take their mind off work.
GySgt David W. explained, “These are some of the hardest working Marines that you will meet. They work 12 hours on 12 hours off 7 days a week throughout the entire deployment. They ensure that safe aircraft are provided when called upon by the troops on the ground. There isn’t a lot of time off, but when they do get it, they need some distraction from the daily grind.”
It was a small ask and OSD was happy to respond with a Supply Drop.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Marines will return home in the Spring as members of OSD’s Southwest Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within San Diego.
