Marines Deployed from Camp Lejeune Receive OSD Supply Drop

JACKSONVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (October 15, 2018) /For immediate release/ — The Marines of Georgian Liaison Team (GLT) ROTO 8 are deployed from Camp Lejeune to Afghanistan. They are essential to the mission there.

Staff Sergeant Andrew D. explains, “The unit is responsible for training and assisting the Georgian military in the safe operations while also providing the recovery asset for the entire base which supports the US Army, Czech Republic, and the Georgians at any time of day or night.”

Needless to say, they work long hours and don’t have much to do to fill downtime.

Staff Sergeant Andrew D. continued, “We are in need of a Supply Drop because we are on stands by at all hours of the day. We are limited as to where we can go on base due to always being on stand by.”

OSD was happy to provide a Supply Drop to these deserving Marines.

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucksj, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Marines will return home in the Spring as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Camp Lejeune.
