Marines from 2nd Anglico Deployed from Camp Lejeune Welcome OSD Supply Drop
JACKSONVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 16, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Marines from the 2nd Anglico are currently deployed from Camp Lejeune to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. With limited access to Wi-Fi, they have to get creative to fill their downtime.
Corporal Jerimiah G. explained, “We have been relying on each other’s laptop with movies we have on hard drives, CDs, and books. There is wifi but not enough to support online gaming.”
Understandably, these Marines were getting restless and bored. With little to do, deployment can start to drag. They were in need of a morale boost and something a little something to take their mind off being away from home.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Marines will return home in the Fall as members of OSD’s Southwest Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Jacksonville.
