Isolated Soldiers from Fort Campbell Get Morale Boost from OSD ‘Supply Drop’
FORT CAMPBELL, KENTUCKY & AUSTIN, TEXAS (September 25, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Deployed from Fort Campbell Kentucky to a remote area of Afghanistan, the Forward Operating Medevac Unit of the 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment was feeling isolated. With limited MWR access and no USO, they were in need of a small reminder of home and a way to boost Unit morale.
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Joseph S. explained, “Our Unit is at a remote location with very limited MWR support and no USO. Regular supplies are rare, and troops do not often receive comforts that remind them of home since mail is extremely delayed.”
OSD was happy to provide this hard-working Unit with a ‘Supply Drop.’
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Joseph S. responded, “We did get the package and thank you so much! The guys really appreciate the tea and coffee and games. Again thanks so much.”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home this Spring as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Kentucky and Tennessee.
