Heroic Forces Veteran Transition Workshop Kicks Off in Fayetteville, North Carolina

After months of preparation, our team in Fayetteville, North Carolina created an amazing opportunity to come together with active-duty and Veterans working through their transition. The purpose of the get-together is a newly formed program we’ve re-launched called Heroic Forces.  The primary mission of Heroic Forces is to get one to four active-duty, veterans or family members together to discuss the various aspects of finding employment, networking, creating resumes. For those still serving, we further emphasize successfully navigating an an upcoming transition from the military. Heroic Forces is dedicated to letting the individuals who attend learn the value of The Teams program at the community level and how members may assist them with any needs they require.  All of our Teams conduct events with impactful businesses, organizations and other non-profits.

During this event we hosted three eager Veterans looking to learn more about transitioning.  Two are active-duty service members (one transitioning the other was not) and a Veteran who recently transitioned.  The event occurred in partnership with Starbucks in Fayetteville, NC.  The specific store where we conducted the training had numerous spouses and Veterans that currently on staff.  There was not a better location to conduct the training.

The event was structured as an open discussion between all of the attendees. We discussed topics such as LinkedIn, resume services, job placement organizations, soldier for life program, financial stability, fellowships and much more. The key point to be discussed is that the Fayetteville team has partners in the state of North Carolina that can support the Veteran with their transition. If the transition is happening external to North Carolina, then OSD at the corporate level has the resources to connect with organizations and individuals that are liked-minded and want to help Veterans.

Although this program may be a recent start in North Carolina it is spreading across our entire Team Program in the coming months. Each Team that wants to help with this program will get an opportunity soon. For the next couple of months we will be expanding the Heroic Forces training to one team per month (Austin, TX; Seattle, WA; Phoenix, AZ; San Diego, CA) and by the end of 2018 to have well prepared Teams in each of the cities where we are located to support Veterans as they need assistance. The goal is simply to be a resource and connect our veterans with dependable and reliable resources across the nation!
