Fort Hood Soldiers Deployed to Afghanistan Receive Morale Boost in the Form of an OSD ‘Supply Drop’

KILLEEN, TEXAS & AUSTIN, TEXAS (October 23, 2018) /For immediate release/ — The RSS, 3rd Cavalry Regiment is deployed from Fort Hood to Afghanistan. Deployed during some of the hottest months in Afghanistan and without much mail from home, their morale had taken a hit.

SPC Rene R. explained, “We have mostly men and women who are single and don’t receive much or any mail, and this heat we have is going to drive everyone insane!”

OSD was happy to provide these hard working soldiers with a much needed morale boost.

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

SPC Rene R. responded, “I would like to thank you so much for the ‘Supply Drop.” It was truly amazing to see the joy that it brought to my battle buddies faces. The coffee was a true blessing for our long nights and the games will really come to use for those days were we get a chance to have a moment together.”

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the early Fall as members of OSD’s Texas Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within the Fort Hood/Killeen Chapter.
