Fort Hood Based Cavalry Unit Deployed to Iraq Increases Morale with Game Nights Thanks to OSD

KILLEEN, TEXAS & AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 9, 2018) /For immediate release/ —   Fort Hood, Texas based US Army 7-17 CAV troops are currently deployed to Iraq since late 2017. With challenging conditions and frequent missions, unit cohesion and morale are an important emphasis for troop welfare.

SGT Alexandria H. wrote, “We are a very cohesive unit. Our unit would like to have game nights to build morale out here in Iraq.”


These troops are now enjoying games, coffee and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Microsoft, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS and other key OSD partners.


OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home as members of OSD’s Texas Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within the Central Texas Chapter.
