Fort Benning Soldiers in Need of a Morale Boost Get OSD ‘Supply Drop’
COLUMBUS, GEORGIA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 30, 2018) /For immediate release/ — The 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade is deployed from Fort Benning to Afghanistan. They are tasked with helping to restore Afghanistan through advising and enabling. Stationed at a base with no MWR or USO, morale was pretty low. SGT Jakob M. noticed that many of his fellow soldiers were starting to miss home and he wanted to find a way to boost their spirits.
He explained, “A Supply Drop would really help the platoon’s morale. We are at that point where people really start to miss home. A Supply Drop would greatly improve all the guy’s attitudes and lead to future mission success.”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Winter as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Benning.
