First Time Deployers in 609th Expeditionary Air Communications Squadron Get Morale Boost from OSD Supply Drop

Airmen of the 609th Expeditionary Air Communications Squadron (EACOMS) are deployed from the 193rd Air Operations Group in Middletown, Pennsylvania to Qatar. They are involved in cybersecurity and network defense for the region.

Senior Airman Dylon K. explained, “Our unit is a group of men and women that do cybersecurity and network defense for the entire Middle East. We work 6 days a week anywhere from 60-70 hours a week. When we’re off we usually work out at the gym or participate in morale events elsewhere on base.”

The squadron is full of younger Airmen, many of whom have never deployed before. Being away from friends and family was taking a toll and they needed a morale boost.

Senior Airman Dylon K. continued, “We have a lot of first time deployers that have never been outside the US or away from family. An OSD Supply Drop would be a great morale booster for some of the younger folks we have out here.”

Where there is a need for a morale boost, OSD Supply Drops are there.

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Airmen will return home in the Summer as members of OSD’s Northeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Pennslyvania.
