Fireman from 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Deployed to Kuwait Get Morale Boost from OSD Supply Drop

BOSSIER CITY, LOUISIANA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 18, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Fireman from the 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron are deployed from Barksdale Air Force Base to Kuwait. For many, this is their first deployment and they were feeling a bit homesick.

SrA Colby S. explained, “Many of the Airmen here are first time deployed and being away from family and friends for this amount of time is a tough situation. There are not many ops resources to help boost and keep morale high.”

Despite missing home, these Airmen work hard day in and day out. Senior Airmen Colby S. was hoping for a way to lift his unit’s spirits and make the deployment a bit easier.

He continued, “We work hard each day both individually and as a team to make this base and fire station much better than how it was handed over to us from the last rotation. I believe with the help of OSD would make a crucial impact on drawing each one of us closer to one another by being more involved together and would ultimately help this deployment go much smoother.

OSD was more than happy to answer this request!

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Airmen will return home in the Winter as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Bossier City.
