Deployed Soldiers from the 12th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood Get Reminder of Home From OSD Supply Drop
KILLEEN, TEXAS & AUSTIN, TEXAS (July 19, 2018) /For immediate release/ — The 12th Cavalry Regiment (2-12 CAV) is deployed from Fort Hood to Europe. This is the first deployment for many soldiers in the unit and because of their rural location, communication home proves difficult. Lack of communication coupled with limited resources had left morale pretty low amongst the soldiers.
SPC Jeremy E. explained, “We have a lot of younger soldiers who are Dads and missing home. Our Unit is diverse in age and background. We have avid readers, gamers, and more. We fill as much time as we can playing soccer and football, but would be eternally grateful for some more things to do to fill our downtime.”
An OSD Supply Drop was provided these soldiers with a little reminder of home and a way to fill their downtime until they are back again.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Spring as members of OSD’s Texas Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Hood.
