Deployed Firefighters from Barksdale Air Force Base Receive OSD Supply Drop
BOSSIER CITY, LOUISIANA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 15, 2018) /For immediate release/ —Firefighters from the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing are deployed from Barksdale Air Force Base to Kuwait. A close-knit group of men and women, they were looking for a way to keep morale up during a long deployment and relax after a long day working outside in the desert heat.
Staff Sargent Christopher P. explained, “Our entire firefighter unit has been deployed together. We are truly a picture of one big family. Every moment leading up to the sandbox, we have stood behind each other with encouragement and help. It’s pretty hot here. We do lots of physical training outside, so we try to relax and all hang out after a long shift. “
OSD was happy to provide a Supply Drop to help these Airmen relax and recharge.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Airmen will return home in the Winter as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Bossier City.
