Brave Rifles Upgrade MWR to Include Games & Coffee from OSD while Deployed to Iraq
KILLEEN, Texas & AUSTIN, TEXAS (JUNE 22, 2018) /For immediate release/ — The 3D Cavalry Brave Rifles are no strangers to OSD, unofficially adopted by CEO Glenn Banton in 2015 ahead of a deployment, this is a third such effort. The soldiers are deployed around Iraq through early 2019 on a route clearance mission.
SSG Edgar F. wrote, “For most of my soldiers this is their first deployment, a lot of then are within the ages of 18-23. I want to help them be more at ease and have things to distract them but also have things for them that remind them of being home, just to help them get through these next long 9 months.”
“I have been training these guys since July 2017 in preparation to this deployment. I took over 2nd platoon early this year. We are currently deployed to Iraq as a route clearance mission to support freedom of maneuver for all small FOBs located around the area.
“We have a small MWR with a few small TV’s that the old unit left and a ping pong table.“
After confirming the “Supply Drop,” SSG Edgar F. replied, “I wanted to inform you that we received the drop box and we really appreciate it. Here are some pictures that we took opening up the box. Again thank you so much, my guys will really enjoy it!”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. This unit will return home in the spring as members of OSD’s Texas Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events in Central Texas.
