Avionics Airmen Deployed to Qatar Receiving OSD “Supply Drop” to Increase Morale

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, NORTH CAROLINA (December 30, 2017) /For immediate release/ — OSD is shipping “Supply Drop” to an Avionics Intermediate shop in Qatar to build unit cohesion and morale in down time between servicing fighter and cargo jets. The Airman, deployed from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina, are due to return home in the early spring.

SSgt Lonnie C., said, “I am part of the Avionics Intermediate Shop in Qatar. Our shop consists of roughly 25 members split between 2 shifts that service parts for the F15, F16, C17, and soon the B1.”

Expanding on what would help the unit, she said, “I don’t really want to get overly picky, but I suppose anything Xbox One related would be great. I think having those GAEMS portable screens/cases would come in handy. Could possibly use some gaming headsets as well so we’re not disturbing others.”

Scott Morrison, OSD Global Director of Community Operations, said, “Maintenance and service crews are integral to mission success and the safety of pilots and troops being transported. We’re glad to be able to provide coffee, games and other goodies to ensure these troops stay in high-spirits and have time to unwind.”

OSD is sending support from GAEMS, Starbucks, Bezier Games, Steve Jackson Games and other key partners with direct support from Rip It Energy and FanDuel.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted over 150,000 active military personnel this year to troops in scores of locations around the globe.
