Apache Maintenance Crew from Fort Hood Gets Boost from OSD in Iraq

FORT HOOD, TEXAS & AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 7, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Hundreds of troops, including members of 7-17 from Fort Hood, Texas receive support from OSD while deployed in Iraq. The unit, provides maintenance support and repairs for all Apache helicopters currently in Iraq and is due to return home in late summer.

US Army Captain Danny H. said, “I am the Troop Commander and my guys have been working their tails off, 24 hours a day, fixing the greatest helicopter in the military.  They put their blood, sweat, and tears into their job with no hesitation. I would do anything for them and ask for any support you may be able to offer.”

Hundreds of troops are now enjoying games, coffee and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Microsoft, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS and other key OSD partners.

“Thank you so much for the Supply Drop. The games will be great for guys in their off-time, they look like a ton of fun. Some of the guys are real board-game nuts, so it’ll be great!”

“They love the coffee, even though it’s hot, they love it. Thank you again for your support. I have attached a picture of the troop in front of one of our Apaches with your stuff.”

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. This unit will return as members of OSD’s Texas Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events in Central Texas.
