Alabama MP Company Deployed to Guantanamo Bay Receives OSD ‘Supply Drop’ Morale Boost
DECATUR, ALABAMA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 5, 2018) /For immediate release/ — US Army 152nd Military Police Company, deployed from Decatur, Alabama is currently in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The unit was originally due to deploy as the entire company, but was later reduced in size whereby all troops volunteered for the time in Cuba.
Spc Dakado A. said, “My unit does the best they can with whatever they are tasked to do. They work long hours multiple days a week. Since my unit has deployed they have only displayed professionalism and discipline.”
“I feel as if they deserve something good to show that people appreciate what they are doing to boost their morale. When we were first tasked to this deployment it was our entire company, then they had reduced the numbers to needing a platoon sized element. Everybody in the platoon from our company volunteered to come here.”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These troops will return home in the late Spring as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events.
