Airmen in the Middle East Get Games and More Through OSD ‘Supply Drop’
CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (March 30, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Det 1 of the 8th Expeditionary Air Mobility Squadron deployed from Charleston AFB to Afghanistan to work on the C-17. The C-17 is vital to the mission in Afghanistan, so their work is essential. A small team, they work extremely hard and like to use the little time off they have to hang out together.
MSgt George C. said, “My team busts their butts working 24/7 catching, servicing, repairing and launching the C-17 weapon system. They never tell me no. But they play hard too. You have to when your team is small and you see each other every day. So we play games, watch movies, and exercise in the little free time we have.”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Airmen will return home as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within the Central NC Chapter.
