578th Brigade Engineer Battalion Receives OSD Supply Drop

AZUSA, CALIFORNIA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (September 15, 2018) /For immediate release/ —   A small detachment of the 578th Brigade Engineer Battalion is deployed from California to Bahrain. Security Forces soldiers, they are responsible for keeping the base secure and ready for the mission. This deployment has been particularly hard because the soldiers in Bahrain are separated from their battalion. Additionally, this is the first deployment for a handful in the platoon and morale was a bit low. Corporal Martir R. reached out to OSD hoping to find a way to boost morale.

He explained, “A Supply Drop would be a good morale booster for the soldiers in my platoon, we are a detachment separated from the main body, which is deployed at another country. We are pretty much on our own (just the platoon) and depend on the platoon to keep the motivation and morale going. This is a chance for the first time deployed soldier, including myself, to keep the positive attitude and continue to keep working hard and staying focus on the job.”
