509th Clearance Company Soldiers from Fort Leonard Wood Enjoying OSD Supply Drop During Deployment

FORT LEONARD WOOD, MISSOURI & AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 14, 2018) /For immediate release/ —   The 509th Clearance Company is deployed to Afghanistan from Fort Leonard Wood. Dispersed between four bases in the region, they are responsible for route clearance. Their work is taxing and they were looking for something to do in their downtime to relax and recharge.

SSG Peter R. explained, “My guys have been working super hard this deployment so far. They could really use something to do in their downtime to keep morale up.”

Supply Drops are a great morale boost and a good distraction from missing home. We were happy to send on these soldiers way.

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Fall as members of OSD’s Midwest Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Leonard Wood.
