Soldiers of the 5-5 Air Defense Artillery are deployed from Fort Sill in Oklahoma to Afghanistan. They work long hours and are essential to the safety of their base.
SFC Steven W. explained, “My soldiers pull 12-hour shifts, with no days off. We provide the whole FOB aerial defense from incoming rockets and mortars. My soldiers love video games on Xbox and PlayStation. We have 4 guard shacks, but lack funds for games or entertainment items. My soldiers deserve a Supply Drop because they work hard and provide aerial coverage for over 3,000 soldiers, contractors, other personnel and protect them from harms way on a daily basis.”
Clearly, these hardworking Soldiers were deserving of a Supply Drop and a way to take their mind off work in their limited downtime. More than happy to send one their way.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Summer as members of OSD’s Midwest Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Sill.
