5-101 Aviation Regiment Gets Much Needed Moral Boost from OSD Supply Drop
FORT CAMPBELL, KENTUCKY & AUSTIN, TEXAS (October 20, 2018) /For immediate release/ — The 5-101 Aviation Regiment “Eagle Assault” is deployed from Fort Campbell to Afghanistan. A Blackhawk Helicopter Company, they are stationed on a remote outpost with access to very little.
CW2 Helicopter Pilot Joseph D. explained, “We are located on a remote outpost that has no PX or any type of store available to sell the basics. Our living conditions are pretty bad. A Supply Drop would greatly improve morale.”
Boredom and poor living conditions are certainly a recipe for low morale. We were happy to send a Supply Drop to these deserving Soldiers and do what we can to improve their situation.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Spring as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Campbell.
