49th Ordnance Company from Fort Campbell Gets Supply Drop to Replace Broken Gaming Equipment

FORT CAMPBELL, KENTUCKY & AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 11, 2018) /For immediate release/ — The 49th Ordnance Company is deployed from Fort Campbell to Afghanistan. Their second deployment in 3 years, morale in amongst the unit was pretty low. Adding insult to injury, these soldiers came into a location that was in bad shape.

SSG Eric T explained, “The unit we replaced left our location in utter disarray. Furniture destroyed, rooms are a disaster and our compound is trashed. Our first three weeks have been spent cleaning and repairing everything, all while running emergency response missions.”

And it didn’t stop there. The unit’s only gaming console was broken in transit.

SSG Eric T continued, “To make things worse, our containers were two weeks late. Once they arrived we found our one and only PS4 was smashed. We have 2 Xbox ones and PS4 games but no PS4. We would be eternally grateful if you were able to assist us in any way to improve our living conditions.”

These soldiers needed a morale boost and OSD was happy to provide a Supply Drop.

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Spring as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Campbell
