495th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion Enjoying OSD Supply Drop
KALISPELL, MONTANA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 25, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Soldiers of the 495th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB) are deployed to Afghanistan from Kalispell, Montana. Soldiers from their Battalion are spread out all over the country supporting base life support operations.
SPC Amy G. reached out to OSD hoping to secure some entertainment items to help boost the spirit of her fellow soldiers. In a remote area, they have access to very little.
She explained, “Because we are so small we don’t really get a lot of MWR or care packages here, we have an extremely small USO that gets stocked up by the Chaplain here on the base, but that stuff doesn’t last long. We also have no PX here, so we order a lot of items and entertainment stuff off of Amazon or you can go to the local bazaar but there isn’t a whole lot of quality items there either.
OSD was happy to supply these soldiers with games, coffee, and other supplies to help increase morale.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Spring as members of OSD’s Southwest Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Montana.
