41st Engineer Battalion from Fort Drum Enjoying OSD Supply Drop
The 41st Engineer Battalion is deployed from Fort Drum in New York to Afghanistan. A Signals Company, they provide communications services, advise, and assist. They are regularly sent on 2 men missions in austere locations.
Specialist Raphael C. explained, “My unit is an engineer unit but my company is a signal company. We’re currently in Afghanistan but we go on 2 men mission every 2-3 weeks. We go to places where there’s no running water and no entertainment. Sometimes we don’t sleep for 24 hrs. Every soldier in this unit is doing their best to make a difference. Having something to boost morale would be appreciated.”
These hardworking soldiers definitely deserved a morale boost and we were happy to give it to them. OSD Supply Drops are full of entertainment items and other supplies that help boost morale and bring soldiers together during a deployment.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Summer as members of OSD’s Northeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Drum.
