3rd Cavalry Regiment Deployed to Iraq Gets Some Stress Relief from an OSD Supply Drop

KILLEEN, TEXAS & AUSTIN, TEXAS (September 6, 2018) /For immediate release/ —   The 3rd Cavalry Regiment is deployed to Iraq from Fort Hood. They are responsible for static security of their base, an intense and high-stress job. They run 24-hour operations, which means downtime is rare.

Staff Sergeant Joshua L. explained, “Security doesn’t stop. Our troop has been running 24-hour ops since arriving. My platoon is on towers 8 hours a day. Once off towers, we conduct physical training then team and squad skills training. Personal time doesn’t come often, but when it does it would be nice to have something to do besides watch the same movies. A Supply Drop would give us a way to relieve stress”

OSD was happy to provide these soldiers some stress relief.

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Winter as members of OSD’s Texas Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Hood.
