The 2nd Ranger Battalion is deployed from Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma, Washington to an undisclosed location. They are a small element that conducts partner operations with local forces. Their ops tempo is high and they like to use what little downtime they have to relax and take their mind off of the deployment. Unfortunately, they had very few ways to do that.
SSG Ernie G. explained, “Our operational tempo is quite high and when we have time off it would be nice to be able to play games together and blow off steam. We don’t have an MWR but we do have a community Xbox 360 here that was left by the team before us though we only have one game for it (the original COD black ops) and it does get old playing the same game over and over again. A few guys brought personal systems, but we don’t have many games for them either.”
These soldiers needed some more entertainment options and we were happy to send some their way.
