28th Military Police Company Deployed to Afghanistan Enjoying OSD Supply Drop
Soldiers of the 28th Military Police Company are deployed from Johnston Armory in Pennsylvania to Afghanistan. Members of the Army National Guard, the deployment is obviously a far cry from their day jobs. They log long hours ensuring the border is kept secure.
Spc Timothy C. explained, “You won’t find any more dedicated squad. We are a small group of National Guard soldiers deployed to Afghanistan on a customs and border protection mission. We clear people, packages, and equipment leaving and entering our area of responsibility before it returns to the US.”
Away from their friends, loved ones, and the comforts of home, these soldiers were looking for a morale boost and a way to relax and recharge in their limited downtime. Their base offered very few amenities.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Summer as members of OSD’s Northeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Pennslyvania.
