1st Special Forces Group Gets Morale Boost Thanks to OSD Supply Drop

TACOMA, WASHINGTON & AUSTIN, TEXAS (April 6, 2018) /For immediate release/ —   Members of the 1st Special Forces Group (A) are deployed from Joint Base Lewis McChord to Afghanistan. Tasked with rigging supply bundles and ensuring that soldiers have the necessary supplies to continue the mission, they were in need of a morale boost. Deployment hours are long and these soldiers were understandable missing their home and loved ones.

SPC Ryan C. said, “It would be nice to receive something to take some of the suck out of deployment.” An OSD ‘Supply Drops’ was the perfect solution. They deliver fun where there is none.

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the fall as members of OSD’s Northwest Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Tacoma.
