1st Security Force Assistance Brigade Receives an OSD Supply Drop and Morale Boost

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (April 11, 2018) /For immediate release/ —   The 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade is deployed from Fort Benning to Afghanistan. Stationed at a remote Forward Operation Base (FOB), they have little to do to entertain themselves. The days are long and these Soldiers needed some way to take their minds off the deployment.

Sergeant Jordan S. explained, “We are a small group that got thrown on a FOB with no other Americans. We have nothing to come back to enjoy as we don’t have a MWR or even a Shoppette. We are essentially stuck with nothing to do.”

Where there is a need for fun downrange, there is an OSD Supply Drop.

These troops are now enjoying games, coffee, and other supplies from generous donors including Starbucks, Rip It Energy, Disgruntled Decks, FanDuel, GAEMS, and other key OSD partners.

OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Winter as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Columbus.
