1st Security Force Assistance Brigade from Fort Benning Gets Reminder of Home from OSD Supply Drop
COLUMBUS, GEORGIA & AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 17, 2018) /For immediate release/ — Soldiers of the 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade are currently deployed from Fort Benning to Afghanistan. Stationed at a British base, they were feeling particularly disconnected from American support.
SGT Dillon H. explained, “We are currently deployed in Afghanistan on a British base with zero American support or amenities. We have no MWR or anything along those lines.”
Morale had taken a hit and these soldiers needed something to look forward to each day, a way to pass the time and keep their mind off of missing home and loved ones. An OSD Supply Drop was the perfect the solution.
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Winter as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Benning.
