AUSTIN, TEXAS & LAREDO, TEXAS December 17, 2017 /For immediate release/ — OSD Texas hosts 12 Military Community Members at David Crisp Ranch Properties in Laredo, Texas for Heroes Gone Wild Thank You Deployment.

This hunting experience brought three generations of veterans together, as well as two active-duty military and three military family members. Veteran Mike B. told us, “This has been the best weekend I have had in years and now I have 8 more brothers to lean on.”

While the weather was cold and rainy, the hunting was outstanding, The group harvested seven javelinas, three hogs and five deer. Everyone visited and told stories back as camp which made for lifelong friendships and mentoring. Veteran Dan S. said, “Thanks for inviting me, you do not know how much I needed this.”

OSD’s Thank You Deployment program rewards military community members with once-in-a-lifetime outings as thanks for continued service. Recipients of these experiences are nominated by the community and include outdoor activities, sporting events, conferences and music.
