118th Field Artillery Regiment Gets Needed Morale Boost from an OSD Supply Drop
Soldiers of the 118th Field Artillery Regiment are deployed from Fort Stewart in Georgia to Afghanistan. They are on an artillery mission in the region and that means constant movement. They rarely get the chance to settle in one location.
The constant movement means they have limited access to resources and amenities and they were in need of something to do in their downtime that would boost morale. They were hopeful an OSD Supply Drop could help.
1st Lieutenant Sidney S. explained, “We deserve a supply drop because our unit is constantly adapting to change. We are rarely in a location that has an MWR or USO, so my soldiers are forced to rely on their phones. WiFi is spotty is in the majority of the places we are, so we have to make do.”
OSD’s “Supply Drop” program has impacted hundreds of thousands of active military personnel in scores of locations around the globe. These Soldiers will return home in the Fall as members of OSD’s Southeast Region, leading and participating in social, professional and service events within Fort Stewart.
